[ Interactive audio-video installation // painting with your voice ]
Klank | Kleur (color of sound) is an interactive audio-video installation that was created for the MuteSounds festival in Het Paard van Troje, in the Hague. The installation takes audio input from a microphone and transforms it into an image in real-time. The idea for the installation is to create a way in which a deaf person is able to see his voice. The voice of the user is used as a brush of which the movement, shape and color is determined by the characteristics of the voice. By using a number of analysis techniques it is possible to extract particular features of the voice. This way it is possible to control the digital paint brush by producing vocal sounds.
