biography

Sonostruct~ is Salvador Breed (1984), Poul Holleman (1984) and Luc van Weelden (1983). All of them finished a Master study in Music Technology at the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2007. Each of them have a very broad knowledge and extended experience in the field of electro-acoustic music and new media art.

Various specialties range from software development for live electronics (Time Engineer, La Nuit de Tomoko) to virtual spatialisation (4D Sound Synthesis) and from interactive audio and/or video (Blokgolven) to autonomous electro-acoustic compositions and performances (Exite).
In the past, Sonostruct~ collaborated with artists from all kinds of disciplines. Including composer/director Merlijn Twaalfhoven – software development and performace for a contemporary pianoconcert, and composer Paul Oomen – an ongoing collaboration in a great variety of projects. Also together with the composer Claudia Rumondor a 15 speakersetup soundinstallation was designed for the Verkade Paviljoen.
In addition, Sonostruct~ initiates its own projects such as the interactive audiovideo installation Klank | Kleur and the electro-acoustic live performance Rain/People/Tree/Shape. Installations and performances have been exhibited and performed throughout several dynamic places, including Festival aan de Werf in Utrecht, Het Paard in The Hague, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Conservatory.

Current activities include the development of 4D Sound Synthesis for a contemporary opera by the Amsterdam composer Paul Oomen, we are developing a new version of the Jukebox and are busy with various other (smaller) projects. Every two months Sonostruct~ organizes AUDIBLE DUST at SMART Project Space, Amsterdam. This is an informal evening to present our own work and invite other artists, which is conducted in the field of audiovisual arts.
